… DESIGN 1-SIDED BUSINESS CARDS

By all means: provided your business card is double the size and can comfortably fit your company name and logo, mission statement, name, job title, telephone number, mobile number, email address, website, registered address (a legal requirement for all Limited companies), and – if required – a summary of services.

Also to bear in mind: if you're so cheap-minded you can't see the investment in printing 2 sides, your clients will assume you cut corners everywhere else.

… DESIGN BLACK AND WHITE BUSINESS CARDS

99.999999% of the time, there is no justifiable reason (even in print costs!) to present your company as bland, uninspired, flat and monotone, except in cases where:

  1. your company is bland, uninspired, flat and monotone, or
  2. see 1.

… PUT IN 'SOME FANCY GRAPHICS' TO FILL UP THE SPACE

Ornament is vacuous. Your business is not, we presume?

Space, on the other hand, can brim with meaning, provided you know what you're doing. Try explaining the reasons behind any unnecessary wavey bits and lines, to a curious client, without squirming or blushing. All our design has meaning.

Be proud when you hand over your business card, not ignorant.

Sharp, long, intake of breath.
Tumbleweed.
Did we hear "clip art"?
As in: the nursery-school doodles that failed illustrators sell to software manufacturers and stock libraries, for 2p each?

Cheap looks like cheap is. The question: does 'cheap' sum up your company?

… SKIMP ON THE COPY WRITING AND COPY PROOFING
